The valleys of la Roya and that of la Bévéra, constitute the eastern part of the maritime Alps. They are very easily accessible with the local transport (SNCF) which links Nice to Cuneo (Italy), as well as the road network, offers you a choice between small picturesque routes or some more important road permitting a rapid access to the principal towns or villages to and from the Côte d'Azur.

- THE MERCANTOUR NATIONAL PARK

Créé en 1979, le Mercantour est un des sept parcs nationaux français; les visiteurs y découvriront un patrimoine naturel et culturel très diversifié. En quelques kilomètres, ils feront un voyage ficitifs de la Méditerranée à l'Arctique passant des ambiances alpines des sommets du mont Bégo ou de l'Agnel, aux olivaies ensoleillées de la Bévéra.

Not to miss, the visit of the four historical wagons of the Orient Express train, which once were part of the legionary train. They are stationed at the local Sospel train station.

- HIKING (jeep excursions) :

Destination the Merveilles-hiking
In permitting all to have access to the rock engravings of the Mervailles and that of Fontanable, the drivers recognised by the national Mercantour park will drive you to feet of both valleys which are situated in the national park.

- MOUTAIN CLIMBING :

Limestone or Gneiss, one will find a wide rang of sites at different altitudes equipped with implanted hooks or pegs allowing the practice of safe mountain climbing all year round.

- CANYONING (June to October) :

Some aquatic hiking for all to the sportive descent. The Roya Bévéra is the valley of canyons. Six are adapted for this purpose, enough to spend a week full frilling sensation in the water with plenty of sun.

- MOUNTAIN BIKING ( VTT ) :

The Bévéra is very advantage with many mountain biking tracks, it is a particularly interesting site for mountain biking lovers. A few beginners tracks exist, the itineraries are most often sportive French and Italian side and some reserved for those with physical training

- SPELEOLOGY / POTHOLING :

The abysses of the massif Marguareis-which owe their fame due to the experience to Michel Siffre. They are well known in the sportive Speleology. This massif is very wild with technical abysses. Not recommended for beginners.

- HORSE RIDDING :

The same as for mountain biking, the richness of the site with numerous tracks make the Bévéra a favourable site for great horse rides. Several clubs propose initiation days also outings on horseback for a day or several.
